Zumba Day (1)

People of all ages turn out to Zumba and support Bernadette Scarduzio.

Keri O'Connor / For The Beachcomber

The CER is offering light chair Zumba in their winter session.

Light chair Zumba is offered for people with limited mobility. Movement and routines are modified to be performed while sitting in a chair with some limited standing if the participant is able. This class will last 45 minutes with frequent breaks between songs so participants have a chance to rest.

Our goal is to get people moving within their abilities and to keep them smiling and grooving to music they love and recognize. Although we use Latin and world music, just like in a more mobile Zumba class, we also include a lot of tunes from yesteryear that participants will recognize and want to move to.

The class instructor is Marisela Dellinger and is free to Brigantine seniors ages 60 and older.

This class meets 9-9:45 a.m. Fridays in the gym at the Community Center. Cost is $25 for nonresident seniors and $50 for those ages 59 and younger.

Participants must register at the Community Center for this class. Registration forms are on the back of our Winter Brochure which is available at the Community Center, City Hall, the library and at various businesses throughout the island.

For information, call the Community Center at 609-2634-7350, ext. 1.
