The Brian Woods Scholarship Fund awarded four scholarships to Brigantine North Middle School students at the graduation ceremony on June 16. Fund Chairman Frank Burbridge presented graduates Jake Gebeline, Emily Gresham, Ella Lawler and Anthony Solari with scholarships totaling $6,000. Gebeline will be attending St. Augustine Prep High School; Gresham, Lawler and Solari will be attending Holy Spirit High School.

Since 1999, The Brian Woods Scholarship Fund has presented over $60,000.00 in scholarships to Brigantine students attending a Catholic high school. Funds to support the program are obtained through the generosity of sponsors and participants of the annual Brian’s Walk.

This year’s Brian’s Walk will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, July 8 beginning at the St. Thomas Church parking lot at 8th St. South and Brigantine Avenue. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Refreshments will be provided by the Knights of Columbus and the entire two mile walk is handicap accessible. The first 100 registrants will also receive a free Brian’s Walk tee shirt graciously donated by Mike Brindisi of Brindisi Builders.

Proceeds generated from this year’s walk will aid in presenting scholarships to the graduating class of 2018. Those interested in making a donation to the scholarship fund can do so by contacting Frank Burbridge at 609-432-9115.
