A family friendly tradition anticipated each holiday season is the Brigantine community tree lighting ceremony, slated to take place 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in front of the Brigantine Fire Department, 1417 W. Brigantine Ave.

Co-sponsored by the city, the Brigantine Chamber of Commerce and the Brigantine PTA, the event will feature live entertainment by the Bob Ferris Band and a performance by the Brigantine North School Choir under the direction of Jason Reed.

Parents can bring their children to meet Santa Claus, who will give all children in fourth grade and younger a gift.
