The Arc of Atlantic County will hold its MonArc Awards gala, one of the most well-established fundraising efforts in its 56-year history, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27 in the Grand Ballroom of Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

The annual gala raises money for the Arc to provide residential services and programming to hundreds of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through its family-support network in Atlantic County. The MonArc Awards serve as a tribute to the Arc's mission and to the corporate sponsors and individual donors who help it achieve that mission.

Tickets are $125 each and can be purchased through arcatlantic.org or by calling 609-485-0800, ext. 141. Tickets for groups of four or more are $100 each.

This year's event is titled “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” It is being held for the first time at Golden Nugget, according to Brigantine resident Mary Moyer, director of development and community outreach for the Arc. For the past three years it was held at the Carriage House in Galloway Township.

The food will be provided by the Golden Nugget's five Landry's Restaurants affiliates. There will also be silent auctions, raffles conducted throughout the evening, and dance music provided by Wibbage 94.3 DJ Ken Shaffer, of Brigantine.

“We'll also have complimentary wine and spirits tastings provided by Allied Beverage,” said Moyer. “Josh Wines will have two types of red and white wines; there will be bourbon samplings by Jim Beam and tequila samplings by Patron.”

Tuckahoe Brewery Co. of Egg Harbor Township and BeachHaus of Belmar will be doling out samples of their craft beers, she said.

Silent-auction items will include overnight-stay packages with dinner options donated by every Atlantic City casino. Harrah's donated tickets to its Viking Cooking School, and Tropicana a VIP booth at its retro nightclub Boogie Nights. There are also bundle options such as the Atlantic City Package that includes admission to Absecon Lighthouse, the Atlantic City Aquarium, A.C. Cruises, White House Sub Shop and Hard Rock Cafe; the Ocean City Package with admission to Gillian's Wonderland Park and Playland's Castaway Cove; and the Best of Smithville Package to several venues in the Historic Towne of Smithville.

The Diner Package offers meals at Silver Coin Diner in Hammonton, the Phoenix Diner in Absecon, Shore Diner in Egg Harbor Township and Galloway Diner in Galloway Township. There are also bundles for auto detailing and more.

The gala will have chef-attended stations for each restaurant represented, as well as dessert stations. The Chart House will provide a hummus trio in three flavors — avocado, roasted red pepper and kalamata olive — with grilled pita and plantain chips; coconut shrimp with tropical dipping sauce; and sausage-stuffed mushrooms.

Michael Patrick’s Brasserie will be making pan-fried crab cakes and mini Philly cheese steaks. The menu from Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse will include beef tenderloin skewers with a Jack Daniels barbecue glaze and mini slider burgers with bacon, cheddar and American cheese.

Grotto will serve bruschetta with grilled Tuscan bread and Roma tomatoes, pasta with cavatappia bolo sauce, penne primavera with meatballs marinara, and garlic and foccacia bread.

Lillie’s Asian Cuisine is providing house fried rice, General Tso’s chicken and vegetable stir-fry lo mein.

Desserts will include mini tortes, mousses, cannoli, éclairs, cream puffs, biscotti, cakes and pies. Coffee, decaffeinated coffee and assorted hot teas will be available.
