LOWER TOWNSHIP – On Aug. 21 John Beacher, a singer-songwriter from New Hope, Pa., will take the Rootstock stage at Hawk Haven Vineyard.

The Rootstock concert series at Hawk Haven Vineyard is a feast for the senses in great music, award-winning wine and eclectic food truck cuisine against the backdrop of a stunning vineyard sunset.

The Bucks County native and singer-songwriter John Beacher has a knack of drawing listeners into his world of song and then astounding them with his vocal improvisations. His ability to vocalize in a jazzy, soulful, style puts him in a category of those who have gone onto national success. His acoustic guitar playing is uniquely percussive and deeply rooted in rhythm. Within his performances there is something for everyone as he weaves in and out of musical genres with ease and cohesion.

Beacher began learning guitar at age 11, and within a short time was writing songs of his own. Playing, singing and listening obsessively throughout his adolescence, John found himself performing his own material professionally at age 17.

Beacher has become a regular name on 88.5 WXPN Philadelphia. He has played live several times on the station and has had his music featured on both Gene Shay’s and Helen Leicht’s programs and an artist at the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Since 2011, Beacher has released a live self-titled solo acoustic album and recently released a new album in the spring of this year. He has also shared the stage with accomplished national acts like Leon Russell, Rusted Root, and Cheryl Wheeler.

Mark your calendars for the Aug. 21 concert featuring singer-song writer John Beacher and the September 4 finale of the Rootsock music series with De Tierra Caliente.
