AVALON — Shop-a-Holics weekend will kick off this year’s events in Avalon Thursday through Saturday, March 8-10 at The Princeton and The Whitebrier.
The festivities begin with a preview party featuring designers, deals and drinks 4-9 p.m. Thursday at both venues and continue 4-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, according to organizers.
Hosted by the 7 Mile Business Community Association, the event offers shoppers two indoor venues with a variety of Avalon and Stone Harbor shops represented, including Tiger Lily, Hassis Men's Shop, The Preppy Palm, Global Pursuit, Armadillo Ltd., and more.
Throughout the weekend, The Princeton and The Whitebrier will serve drink specials and a small-plates menu so folks can sip, snack and shop their way through each boutique and business.
“The Shop-a-Holics event is many things to many people,” said Kathleen Wierzbicki, the event coordinator. “To some, it represents a chance to reconnect with their shore friends and enjoy a weekend away; for others, it is an opportunity to take advantage of all the great bargains from the best shops on Seven Mile Island, all while supporting the local charity, Friend In Need. Whatever your reasons, it a ‘must attend’ on your calendar."
More than 30 stores are participating, including Coco Blu, ellelauri, Annabelle, Gingy's, Closet Boutique and Shades of Avalon. Coffee Talk will be serving coffee and pastries.
Donations will be accepted for this year's beneficiary, Friend In Need. The organization was created to help those who are in need in Cape May County.
The event is supported in part by a grant from the state Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism.
