LOWER TOWNSHIP – Hawk Haven Vineyard is asking for donations of unwrapped toys or clothing to people in need.
Thanks to the generosity of the families at Secluded Acres Farm and Garden Center and Rio Station Restaurant, Hawk Haven Vineyard is working with Cape Assist to donate 10 Christmas trees with lights to families who cannot afford the cost of a live tree.
“Giving a Christmas tree to someone is one small way to make their holidays brighter,” said Hawk Haven Vineyard owner Todd Wuerker. "Maybe what they were going to spend on a Christmas tree could go toward something else, like a utility bill or a present.”
The Christmas trees that line the path to the winery’s tasting room will be headed to local families in need on Dec. 13, according to a press release.
Hawk Haven customers can get involved by bringing a new unwrapped toy or new children’s outerwear, such as coats, gloves and hats, to the tasting room by Dec. 12. A free wine tasting will be offered to customers who donate a new toy or coat.
Cape Assist will make sure gifts go to families who are struggling.
