Management of Crest Savings Bank was honored to take part in a project that pays tribute to those heroes who lost their lives in the Vietnam War. Members of Chapter 955, Vietnam Veterans of America met with members of the bank’s senior management to be presented with the bank’s sponsorship check. The group stood in front of a portrait of the bank’s board of directors, some of whom are war veterans themselves. Crest Savings Bank employees continued a tradition this year by putting together a flower sale to benefit the Love of Linda fund. The flowers are sold to employees of the bank who are encouraged to purchase them for $1 each and offer them to co-workers on Valentine’s Day. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a partner agency of the United Way of Atlantic County and the CASA staff decided to join their Live United Movement by giving back to our communities. CASA selected the Clothes Closet that is run by the Ecumenical Council, which is comprised of members from churches in Ocean City. The Clothes Closet provides gently used clothing to those in need in Ocean City. On March 20, the CASA staff uniformed in their Live United shirts, arrived at the Clothes Closet and immediately set to work. Six CASA Staff members together with one of their interns sorted through approximately 100 pounds of clothing. As the seasons change so do the clothing needs of the communities so the CASA Staff was charged with sorting through bags of clothes selecting the spring and summer wear to be put out soon while the winter clothes were boxed away for the next cold season.

Roy Hartle Sr. has been named Cape Regional Medical Center’s Special Touch Volunteer of the Month for March. Since joining the volunteer team at Cape Regional Medical Center in 2005, Roy has contributed more than 600 hours of vital volunteer service. Roy’s contribution of time as a weekday morning golf cart driver is appreciated by visitors, outpatients and medical center staff who welcome the ride from their parking space to the medical center entrance. Roy is a U.S. Army veteran. He was stationed in Europe during the Korean War. Roy and his wife, Betty, live in Villas. In addition to their two sons, Roy Jr. and Tom, they have a daughter Amy and two granddaughters, Elle and Lily. The entire family resides in Cape May County… John D. McAllister, M.D., diagnostic radiologist, has achieved the designation of diplomat of the American Board of Radiology with board certification in diagnostic radiology and a specialized subspecialty in neuroradiology. Dr. McAllister joined the medical staff at Cape Regional Medical Center as a member of the department of radiology in April 2008… The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce board of directors welcomed two new members to the board at their March 31 meeting. Joining the chamber’s board of directors are Veronica Morey and Robert Maschio. Veronica “Ronnie” Morey is the regional vice president of Sun National Bank with offices throughout New Jersey. Morey has been employed at Sun National Bank since 1999 and is a resident of Lower Township. Robert “Bob” Maschio joined Coastal Broadcasting Systems Inc. in 1998 and purchased the company in December 2008. Maschio is a resident of North Wildwood… Charles Antinori, M.D., FACS, of Cape May, recently received a three-year appointment as cancer liaison physician for the cancer program at Cape Regional Medical Center. Cancer liaison physicians are an integral part of cancer programs accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC)… Brian Ladzenski, transporter for diagnostic imaging, is the Service Excellence of the Month recipient for March. Brian joined the Cape Regional Medical Center family in July 2002 and has served in his role as patient transporter for the past year. Brian lives in Erma and has been a volunteer firefighter for the Erma Fire Department for nine years. He also a member of the Fraternal Order of Leatherheads (FOOLS), an organization that trains and supports firefighters… The American Physical Therapy Association of New Jersey presented the 2009 James Tucker Excellence in Clinical Practice and Teaching Award to Judith Horn, PT, DPT, MS, GCS, CWS, FACCWS during its annual conference. The faculty and students of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey nominated Judy and she received the award from Patty Brick, PT, MPT, GCS, president of the American Physical Therapy Association of New Jersey (APTA-NJ). Judy is the senior clinical resource specialist in rehabilitation medicine at Cape Regional Medical Center… Outstanding customer service and the ability to conscientiously support the learning needs of others have earned Donna Bingenheimer, RN, educational specialist, the honor of being named Shore Memorial Hospital’s April Employee of the Month. Bingenheimer began her career at Shore Memorial in November 2000. As an educational specialist she assists others with healthcare and computer education… Elizabeth “Bissie” Cianfrani, RN, administrative director of surgical services at Shore Memorial Hospital, recently received the hospital’s prestigious Leadership Profile Award for her efforts in elevating clinical practices and her role in planning for the new Surgical Pavilion. The Leadership Profile Award is presented periodically to a manager for exemplary job performance and exhibiting the characteristics most valued in leaders within the organization. As administrative director of surgical services, Cianfrani is responsible for overseeing Shore Memorial’s Surgical Services Department, CardioVascular Institute, endoscopy services and IV therapy. She was an integral part in helping the hospital achieve certification by The Joint Commission for its Lumbar and Cervical Spine programs in fall 2008, making Shore Memorial only one of three hospitals nationwide to receive the distinction. She has also played a pivotal role in designing the layout for the new Surgical Pavilion, which will house all of surgical services. Cianfrani started her career at Shore Memorial in 2005 in her current position. A Wildwood Crest resident, Cianfrani and her husband Ted have three sons, one grandson and are expecting twin grandchildren later this year… AtlantiCare recently named Hemang Dave, MD, FACP, medical director of AtlantiCare Hospice and Palliative Care. Dave will oversee the medical management of Hospice patients and coordinate patient care with patients’ physicians and the hospice staff… AtlantiCare has named Matthew Caddell, DO, MPH, of Egg Harbor City, medical director of AtlantiCare Occupational Medicine. In this role, Caddell works with AtlantiCare and other employers to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses and treat and rehabilitate injured employees… Siobhan Dooley of Cape May Court House has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct-sales company featuring easy-to-prepare gourmet products… Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors Ocean City offices sales associates were recognized by the New Jersey Association of Realtors with Circle of Excellence Awards for 2008. They include: Robin Parris and Sean McGinnis of the 34th Street office on receiving the silver award and bronze level winners, Mary Louise Bowdler and Paul Gilbert, both from the 34th Street office, also, Cheryl Huber and the Cheryl Huber team, of the 34th Street office, on receiving the Platinum Award and Kevin DeCosta, of the 34th Street office, on receiving the Gold Award. Likewise, also honored were Jeff Quintin, of the 55th Street office, on receiving the Platinum Award and Thomas Palermo, Ocean City-Battersea office sales associate. Honored in Stone Harbor were sales associates, the Hugh Merkle team, on receiving the Platinum Award… Kendra Bostard, executive secretary in the Cape Regional Medical Center Foundation Office, is the Service Excellence of the Month recipient for April. Kendra has been a part of the medical center family since August 1998, and has served in her present position since August 2006. Kendra lives in Cape May Court House with her husband Greg. The couple are the proud parents of two daughters, Abri and Alexis… Helen Rague was awarded Cape Regional Medical Center’s 2008 Special Touch Volunteer of the Year at the annual volunteer recognition luncheon on April 20. Helen’s daughter, Cookie Bishop and granddaughter, Lauren Bishop both attended the celebration, and accepted the award on Helen’s behalf. Helen began volunteering at Cape Regional Medical Center in November 1984, and for many years diligently provided service in the Medical Center’s Bistro Coffee Shop (formerly the Cheeri Corner) and currently is assigned as an errand volunteer. In addition to her regular duties, Helen regularly offers assistance with various projects and assignments; to date, Helen has contributed over 3,700 hours of vital, dedicated service. In January of 2008, Helen was awarded the Special Touch Volunteer of the Month; the year’s subsequent monthly award recipients were also recognized by more than 125 of their peers at the annual luncheon. Helen and her husband, Bob live in Wildwood, and are the proud parents of four grown children, Cookie, George, Johnny, and Kathy, seven grandchildren, Billy, Charlie, Lauren, Ryan, Corey, Caitlyn and Christopher, and five great grandchildren. Helen has also worked at Duffers in Wildwood for the past 21 years during the summer season.

The Hubachs plan to donate the grant to Angels on the Atlantic in support the organization’s 2009 summer program efforts.
