40 years, countless memories at Morey’s Pier
WILDWOOD -- Morey’s Piers is asking guests to share their memories and help to
preserve history in a new book being published as the company celebrates its
40th anniversary in the coming year. Guests past and present can submit a
favorite photo of their experience on one of Morey’s Piers over the last 40
years and the story to go along with it.
When established in 1969, Morey's Piers had simple origins. In 1968, the
founders Will and Bill Morey purchased a giant 12-lane fiberglass slide and
placed it on what became the site of Surfside Pier. Now 40 seasons later Morey’s
Piers consists of more than 100 rides and attractions spanning three amusement
piers and two beachfront waterparks. Still family owned and operated, the
company mission is “to create a spectacular family recreation experience in a
safe, clean, friendly, unique environment.” Morey’s Piers voted one of the best
seaside amusement parks in the world in 2007 is known as the largest seaside
amusement park in the Western Hemisphere and is the recipient of countless
international awards.
