The relaxation experience
Rob, Sherry and Robbie Higbee of Egg Harbor Township
recently cruised to the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.
They are pictured here in front of the St. Maarten welcome
center. The three enjoyed snorkeling, waverunning and
extreme relaxation during their trip.

The Gazette traveled on a Royal Caribbean cruise over Easter
vacation with the Booth family of Seaville. Pictured are
Lisa, Justin (holding the Gazette), Steve and Ryan Booth.

The Brice and Kimball families along with
GG Mazzarella travel with the Gazette to the Bahamas aboard
the "Sovereign of the Seas" Royal Caribbean cruise line to
celebrate Betty Slaveski's 70th birthday.

The Gazette is shown on the steps of the Holland American
Cruise Ship “Volendam” where 10 members and friends of the Knights
of Columbus, Madonna Maria Council 3560 from Sea Isle City
(organized by Joe Matyszcak) enjoyed a fun-filled 12-day tour of the
Eastern Caribbean and the Panama Canal.

Harriett A. Reardon Bailey and the Gazette are enjoying the
gardens on Hibiscus Lane, one of the tiny alleyways in St. Thomas.
Harriett went on a 10-day Caribbean cruise from New York on the “Noordam.”
She was recognized by the captain for sailing 100 days with Holland
American Line.

Hobnobbing with the natives
Maxine and Jerry Garfinkle of Margate, left,
and Stanley and Charlotte Friedman of Ventnor enjoy some time with
island women on Grenada who are carrying baskets of flowers and
fruit on their heads. The photo was taken during a stop along a
10-day cruise of the eastern Caribbean in February.

While on a cruise in the Caribbean, Kate Moffat of Palermo
took the Gazette with her to Dolphin Discovery in Anguilla, BWI, to
swim with her new friends Coby, Neptuno and Calypso.
A large group of friends and fellow Ocean City residents
took a fun filled Caribbean cruise with stops in Jamaica, Costs
Rica, the Grand Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Mexico and the Panama

went on a trip to the Atlantis tropical resort and hotel in the
Bahamas in November with the Palicastio family of Egg Harbor
Township and the Briglia family of Northfield. Shown are George and

Camping and
snorkeling in the islands
Katherine
Reinert and Joanna Cook of Somers Point enjoyed a day of snorkeling
off the beach at Trunk Bay while camping at Maho Bay on St. John's
in the U.S. Virgin Islands over the Christmas holiday.
The McComb family, of Beesley’s Point,
traveled with the Gazette to Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas,
in November. They had a great time exploring the largest marine
habitat (next to Mother Nature) in the world with their family.

The Ocean City Gazette sailed aboard the "Wing White" from
Saint John, U.S. Virgin Islands to Jost Van Dyke in the
British Virgin Islands. Pictured here on the beach in Jost
Van Dyke are Captain Clark Beam, Sunny and Keith Neill. The
Neills were in the Virgin Islands celebrating their
anniversary.

Having a great time in Aruba
After a scrumptious meal in Aruba’s
Chalet Suisse Restaurant, these Downbeachers gathered for a

Friends travel in style

Point friends went together on a Carnival Cruise to St.
Maarten, St. Lucia, and St. Kitt's Feb. 28 to March 8.

Pat and Joe Tanghare, from Cape May Court House, finally
got to go to the Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. They
took the Gazette along for the ride while they cruised on the
Carnival Glory and sailed to Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Adoring Aruba
Betty and Arnold Beroth of Margate are pictured
shopping in Aruba during one of the stops on their 11-day cruise to
the western Caribbean in January. They celebrated their 52nd wedding
anniversary in the balmy climate.

The Gazette traveled to Antigua with Debbie Chisholm of
Upper Township and her friend, Nancy Rager. They are pictured here
at the Antigua airport.
The Gazette traveled March 6 to Red Hook, St. Thomas, U.S.
Virgin Islands on a Caribbean cruise with several members of Sea
Isle’s Commodore Club for an afternoon jam session with Cletus
McBride. Cletus plays in Sea Isle during the summer. During the
winter, he plays at Molly Molone’s in Red Hook.

Nina and Bill
Demko of Linwood and their daughters Ilana and Brooke of Arlington,
Va., vacationed in Aruba. They said they enjoyed the beautiful
weather, reading The Current on the beach and a week full of fun
activities … including lots of poker.

The Neill Family of Ocean City took
a New Year's cruise aboard the “Coral Princess” to the Panama Canal.

Bonnie and
John's Caribbean cruise
John Hughes and
Bonnie DePaul of Egg Harbor Township took a 10-day Caribbean cruise
Nov. 30 to Dec. 10. They visited the islands of St. Thomas, St.
Maartin, Barbados, Tortola and Antigua, where this photo was taken.
Swimming with dolphins was the highlight of their trip.

cruise aboard the Majesty of the Seas. They sailed from Miami, Fla.,
to Nassau in the Bahamas, and ended in Key West. From left to right

To market, to market
Keith and Maryann Gustafson of Mays
Landing visited the marketplace in St. Martin July 4. One
side of the island is governed by the French and the other
side is governed by the Dutch. They said it is a truly
beautiful country with friendly people and gorgeous beaches.

DJ Rick Rock, of WILW 94.3 in Wildwood and a group of
friends and listeners cruised with the Gazette to the
Bahamas. Shown aboard the Norwegian Spirit are friends known
as the “Cruise Crew” from Cape May Court House, Villas,
Marmora and Ocean City.

went on a Carnival Cruise to St. Maarten, St. Lucia and St.
Kitt's from Feb. 28 to March 8. The excursion was dubbed
“Linda’s Cruise” in honor of Linda Bader McNally of Somers
Point. When they’re not cruising the Caribbean, they enjoy
spending time around the tiki hut in the back yard of Linda
and Mo McNally, David and Sue Parkkonen and David Parkkonen
Jr. They call the hangout Little Point Key. Shown are

Dave and Tina Glassford, Belleplain, for the Commodore Club's annual
cruise to the Caribbean. Their ports of call included Nassau, St
Thomas and St Maarten.

While on a
Caribbean cruise celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, Sylvia
and Richard Petermann of the Fairways in Mays Landing tried out the
throne at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino on Paradise Island in the
Bahamas and had their photo taken with The Current.

recently enjoyed a fabulous cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom
of the Seas to the western Caribbean.

Neighbors wherever they go
Tom and Chris
Williams of Smithville, Ann and Dick Howarth of North Carolina
(formerly of Smithville) stand with The Current aboard the Royal
Caribbean Explorer of the Seas on the promenade deck. During the
10-day cruise to the Caribbean, they visited Puerto Rico,
St. Maarten, St.
Thomas, (St. John) and Labadee, a private island. The couples were
neighbors in Smithville and actually lived in the same hometown
prior to moving to Galloway Township, but did not know each other:
This is their fourth cruise together; they plan many more to come,
taking The Current with them.

Bob
and Fran McGowan, of Pacific Avenue in Wildwood, took The Leader
cruising with them aboard the Norwegian Star from Aug. 11-18.

‘Nana’ goes to Nevis
Helen Brooks celebrated her 85th birthday in Nevis, West
Indies, accompanied by her three daughters, Pauline Mitchell of
Elkton, Md.; Joyce Gresham of St. Charles, Mo.; and Debbie Brooks of
Forestville, Md.; two grandchildren, Halima Gresham-Yeldell of
Washington, D.C., and Patrice Brooks of Forestville, Md.; and two
great-grandchildren, Khalil and Bashir Yeldell of Washington, D.C.
“Nana” carried a copy of The Current all the way from Mays Landing
for the celebration.
The
Wildwood Leader is being held by Danny Martin. Martin went on his
first cruise to the British Virgin Islands at the end of June. He
traveled with his parents, Anne and Dan Martin, who are from
Wildwood.

Nick and Helen Dalessio, of West
Wildwood, with their copy of The Leader. The Dalessios celebrated
their 20th anniversary on a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas.

More than 40
friends and family members of Barbara Taylor (North
Wildwood) & Jack and Mary Jane Hunt (Wildwood Crest &
Broomall, PA) traveled to the Turks & Cacios in February to
celebrate the wedding of Holly Taylor & Chaz Hunt. Pictured

The

aboard the Carnival Glory with members, friends, families of the
Commodore Club of Sea Isle City. The ports of call included Port
Canaveral, Nassau, Bahamas, St Thomas and St Maarten. They sailed on
March 3-10.

Nassau, Bahamas while on the Disney Wonder and visited Discovery
Cove Dolphin Encounters in December.

Caribbean aboard the Celebrity ship “Constellation” with Rich and
Andrea Latimer for Valentine's week. In the background is the

de Brazil in Aruba, “The Happy Island,” while on vacation with

Last Fling In The Sun
Rich and Andrea Latimer, of Ocean
View, took the Gazette to Nassau, Bahamas for a “last fling in the
sun” in 2006 over the Thanksgiving holiday. The docks for the cruise
ships can be seen in the background.
