Janice Connell traveled to Europe and
China last summer where her husband, David Cummings, met her
in Paris and they spent wonderful days on vacation seeing
the sites, including Notre Dame. The Gazette also traveled
with Connell and a colleague on a cruise down the Yangtze
River in China where it made a stop at the controversial
Three Gorges Dam.
Les girls travel Europe
Krista Anna Williams and Bailey Christine Rogers of Galloway
Township enjoyed three weeks traveling as student
ambassadors in France, Ireland, England, Belgium and the
Netherlands.
They fell for the Eiffel
Jan Hewitt of Galloway Township and her son Charles,
daughter-in-law Danae, and 9-year-old grandson Steven, all
from Wisconsin, climbed the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France in
April. They were in France for a visit with Hewitt's
daughter, Maurita, who spent her 2007-2008 junior year at
Bucknell University as a foreign exchange student.
Where peace was made
Ken and Fran Cina of Mays Landing and Bruce and Linda Rihl
of Somers Point visited King Louis XIV's palace at
Versailles near Paris in early October. The trip began in
Paris and was followed by a river barge cruise with stops at
small villages along the Rhone River and culminated in Nice
on the French Riviera.

Lauren Sutherland of Ocean City and Leah
Davies of Seaville spent 10 days traveling through the
Netherlands, Belgium and France. They started their trip in
Amsterdam where they saw the Anne Frank House. On the way to
Paris, they toured the Palace of Versailles and are shown in
front of the Eiffel Tower.
Tyler Casaccio of Beesley's Point and his
grandfather Ralph Clayton took the Gazette with them on a
roller blade tour with Zephys Adventure Tours. Starting in
Luxemborg, France and Germany and skating 300 miles in the
Mosel Valley following the Mosel Rever to the Rhine, an
absolutely fabulous tour through the German Villages and
vineyards all along the Mosel River.
Maddie Haurin continues her travels in
Europe with The Wildwood Leader. She is pictured in Paris,
France at the Arc de Triomphe. Maddie is the granddaughter
of Judy Miller of Wildwood Crest.
In June, Judy Kweder and her
granddaughter, Elisabeth Weeks, from Ocean City, traveled to
Paris, France to celebrate Elisabeth’s graduation from
Lansdale Catholic. They are shown holding the Gazette in
front of the Cathedral of Norte Dame.
Diane and Norm Goldberg of Town Bank (and
the Cape May Tennis Club) took the Gazette along on a recent
trip to Normandy, France. Here, they pose in front of
artillery at Omaha Beach, one of the sites where the allies
landed on D-Day to begin the invasion of Nazi-occupied
Europe in 1944.
Christine and Steve Katsiff traveled with
the Gazette to Paris, France for a family reunion. They meet
Christine's son, warrant officer William DeLong who was on
leave from his tour of duty in Iraq. In Paris, the family
met with Chris's daughter Patricia DeLong Boulanger who now
lives in France with her husband Matteau. Robert and Eileen
Hilly, along with Meghan Delong, were also there to enjoy
some time with Bill before he returns to Iraq. From Paris
the group flew to Vilsak, Germany where William Delong's
wife Irma and his two children, Michaela and Elizabeth live
on the army base. They then traveled to Garmish, Germany and
stayed at the US Army military resort Edelweiss, which rests
at the foot of the Alpine mountain range. From Edelweiss
they traveled to Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Christine's son warrant officer William Delong is a 1997
graduate of Ocean City High School. He will return to Iraq
with the Stryker Calvary Regiment to serve the rest of his
tour till November 2008.
The last time they saw Paris
Nicole and Ryan Maslowas of Galloway Township traveled to
Paris, France. After posing in front of the Eiffel Tower,
they climbed 700 steps to the tower’s second platform. The
Maslowas family also visited the Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc de
Triomphe and the Basilica of Sacré Coeur.
The Kanes of Seaville spent two weeks in
England and France over the Christmas break with the
Gazette, where they met up with their grandparents, aunts,
uncles and cousins from California. They celebrated
Christmas in London and New Years in Paris, while doing some
fantastic sightseeing. Pictured at the top of Notre Dame

Harriett Reardon Bailey of Ocean View,
Linda Rothermel of Ocean City and Dot Wood of Seaville are
shown with the Gazette in front of the birthplace of Albert
Schweitzer. They visited the home and museum of this 1952
Nobel Peace Prize winner in Kaysersberg, France. His study
is exactly the way he left it back in 1959. It was part of a
12-day cruise with stops at Christmas markets along the
Rhine.
C’est bien… to be in Paris
John McGranaghan is pictured here with his daughters Megan
and Kelly on a recent trip to Paris. John is the son of
Madeline Boselli of Ventnor. He grew up in Ventnor and
attended St. James School and then Atlantic City High
School. The family spent four days in London, then boarded
the Eurostar train to Paris for a few days before returning
home.
Madame Storm's French students traveled
to Paris, France from June 25 to July 3. They are pictured
with the Gazette in front of the Eiffel Tower which is

Erica Johns and Sam Palombo wrap up their
month long visit to a school in Dunkerque, France. They are

Along with family and friends, Upper
Township Mayor Rich Palombo and his wife, Sandi, visited the
Palace of Versailles in France. They stopped for a photo
with the Gazette in the newly renovated Hall of Mirrors. The
Treaty of Versailles which ended World War I was signed in
the Hall of Mirrors. Pictured from left are the Palombo

Fast track to Paris
Jess Adkisson of Absecon went to see the Eiffel
Tower in Paris, France. Adkisson, who was attending Arcadia
University's study abroad program in London, England, took the
Eurostar train from London to Paris.

Raymond James Went
Jr. and Deborah (Bookach) Went of Ventnor spent their honeymoon on
the French Rivera. After getting married in a palace Sept. 23, 2006,
in Venice, Italy, other stops included the beaches of Nice, France
(shown); Cannes and Monte Carlo where they shopped and ate fabulous
food.

Joan and Stan
Rosenblatt of Margate recently visited the French Cote d'Azure to
attend the wedding of their niece in Plan-de-la-Tour, near St.
Tropez. They stayed in Nice and then cruised on the Windstar Lines
Windsurf five-masted sailing ship, finishing their travels in Rome,
Italy. The photo was taken in Nice, France, at their hotel, the
Radisson SAS.

Vendome in Paris, France – a well-known high-end shopping square
where the Ritz Hotel, Mauboussin Jewelers and several other famous
French retailers can be found. They visited Paris, Franck’s
hometown, to visit the children’s grandparents, aunts and uncles in
February.
