are assigned in the Air Force Reserve.

Captain Bob Brown from the 200 block of
West Juniper Ave. in Wildwood is deployed as Active Duty,
Army, at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl,
Germany, where he works in the Emegency Room. He would like
to say Hi to John and all the people on Juniper Ave. He
hopes to be back for flounder season next summer. |

sister Fran DeVincent of Ocean City took the Gazette on a
family reunion to visit their mother’s hometown of Bavaria,
Germany. |

Rhine-ing and dining in Germany
Dan and Marybeth McNamee celebrate her 40th birthday in
Germany along the Rhine River overlooking all the old
castles and hills. |

Donna and Bill Omrod of Marmora traveled
with the Gazette to Hamburg, Germany in May to attend the
wedding of their former exchange student, Nico Hohendorf.

Fast getaway
The Maslowas family of Galloway Township traveled to
Frankfurt, Germany and took the InterCity Express, or ICE,
bullet train to Paris, France. Here, Nicole and Ryan are
ready to board the train in Frankfurt. The train reached
speeds up to 191 mph, and it took 3½ hours to get from
Frankfurt to Paris, a distance of about 355 miles.

Long way to go for a beer
Blanche and Joe Coffineau of Galloway Township and their
children and spouses salute The Current on Augustiner Street
during their trip to Munich, Germany to enjoy the world
famous Oktoberfest beer festival. |

Frank and Judy Sokolski of Palermo took the Gazette
with them on their three-week vacation to Austria and
Germany. We are pictured in front of the Alte Post Hotel in
Oberamegau, Germany which is famous for their woodcarvings
and the Passion Play.

An interesting
intersection
Vic and Kathy Urbon are
pictured in front of a monument marking the intersection of
Germany, Switzerland and France on the Rhine River. The stop
was one of many on a 14-day cruise of the Rhine and Mosel
rivers from Basel, Switzerland, to Antwerp, Netherlands, on
the Riverboat Melody. They were part of a 50-year reunion of
four Drexel grads and their spouses.

Jerry McNamara, of West Wildwood, shown in Bamberg, Germany. He
served there in the Seventh Army 15th Transportation Company
from April 1960 until August 1962. He was in Germany for the
month of February.

 Foreign exchange
Grace Lechner, Debbie Rockelmann
of Egg Harbor Township and Daniel Wehrhann, a former 2005-2006
exchange student of Rockelmann’s, visited the Cathedral in
Cologne, Germany. Lechner and Rockelmann visited different
cities in Germany during their two-week trip, staying five days
with Wehrhann’s family. They visited another former exchange
student and attended her wedding. |
Musicians on the go
Lauren Ferguson and Katelyn West, both of Northfield, traveled
to Europe in July with American Music Abroad, hitting Germany,
Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France. This picture was taken
at the start of their trip at an ancient castle in Heidelberg,
Germany, overlooking the city and the River Necker. The two were
part of a musical group that consisted of high school musicians
and vocalists from states along the East Coast. |
 Castle hopping in Germany
The Carlsons’ family vacation took them to Germany where they
visited family and several castles there. Shown at the Schloss
Baldern Castle are Bob, Krystle and Gertrud Carlson of Egg
Harbor Township. |

Craig and Renate
Johnston, of Hanover, Pa. and Ocean City, together with their
son Davis and Courtney Goncoe, of Chicago and their son, Chris,
and Grace Vangeison, of Rochester, N.Y., recently visited family
in Germany. They are shown traveling with the Gazette in front
of the St. Nicholas castle in Schwerin, Germany. Schwerin is a
city in what was at one time in the DDR. It has experienced much
growth, redevelopment and reconstruction in the past 15 years.
