Seven residents from Ocean View and South Seaville traveled with the New Jersey United Methodist Church to Greece and Turkey where they followed Paul’s second journey to Athens, Corinth, Thessalonika, Philippi, Pergamum and Ephesus. They are shown with the Gazette at the ruins of the Temple to Athena, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The group includes Harriett Reardon Bailey, Joan Rogers and her daughter Rose, Rev. John and Clara Hanjian and Rev. Tom and Pat Perry. Steve and Chris Katsiff while on an extended cruise though the Aegean and Mediterranean seas stopped at the port of Piraeus Greece for a tour of Athens. While in the port they were approached by Olin Davidson, Ocean City High School class of 1999 with family in Beesley’s Point. He explained he was an entertainer on the Celebrity cruise ship, the Millennium, the ship on which they were traveling. The group spent the rest of the cruise together visiting the ports of Venice, Dubrovnik Croatia, Ephesus Turkey, Naples, Monte Carlo, Rome, Florence ,Capri, Nice, England and Barcelona Spain. It was a windy day in Athens, Greece when Marilyn Blankman of Margate and Kathy Bernstein of Longport took The Current to the Parthenon at the Acropolis. The winter weather didn’t keep them from enjoying their Mediterranean cruise, but they were "blown away" by the fascinating sight of this ancient temple to the goddess Athena.

 Mary Ladd of Egg Harbor Township took The Current to the market in Thessaloniki, Greece. She had a wonderful visit with her son and family who are missionaries over there.

Phyllis Husley (left), of Ocean City, traveled to Greece with the Gazette and with her friend, Rosalie Klamo, of Ocean City and Florida, and Rosalie’s son and daughter in law, John and Sandy. They cruised to different islands of Greece and Turkey. The four are pictured at the ruins of the oldest temple in Greece.
