 Doug and Bobby Shallcross of Upper Township took the Gazette with them on a recent trip to Boston. Doug was studying American History in Mr. Jackson's fifth grade class and went on the trip to learn more about American history. While in Boston they walked the Freedom Trail, participated in the reenactment of the Boston Massacre, toured Fenway Park and saw a Celtics Basketball game. Carl and Mary Maier from North Wildwood and Warrington, Pa., in Boston for the Boston Marathon that Mary successfully ran in 3 hours and 52 minutes. This was Mary's second consecutive Boston Marathon.

Finally the wedding of a lifetime, Jude Woltman and Dave Costantino tied the knot in Cape Cod, Mass, toasted by friends and family, best man Rob and Michelle Costantino, Trish and Gregg Ciliberto, Nancy and Bill Handley, Gina and Steve Oliver, Steve Costantino and John Castaldi are shown with the Gazette. Charles and Jennifer Heintz of Pomona went to Fenway Park in October to welcome the Red Sox home from Colorado after winning the World Series. They were on vacation in Salem, Mass., and couldn't pass up the opportunity being so close to Boston.

The Gazette went to Boston for Boston University's parents' weekend. Camille Szramiak (left) is an honors international baccalaureate graduate of the International School of Brussels (ISB) and now a university scholar freshman at BU. John Szramiak (right) is an honors graduate and athlete of the year from the ISB Middle School, and now a sophomore at St. Augustine Prep in Richland. The photo shows BU's Agannis Sports Center where the BU men's ice hockey team ranked 18th played against the University of New Hampshire ranked eighth. BU held its own until five minutes remaining in the match when UNH scored three quick goals and won 4-1. The Gazette went to Boston for Boston University's parents' weekend.  Old Sturbridge Village, Wachuseti Mountain

Over the July 4 holiday, Courtney Harris of Estell Manor and cousin Devon Harris from Cape Coral, Fla. visited relatives on Lake Lashaway, East Brookfield, Mass. They along with their grandparents, Peggy and Bob Pittenger of Estell Manor, drove up to the lake in their motor home for the visit. While there, the girls visited Old Sturbridge Village, Wachuseti Mountain, swam, kayaked, watched fireworks on the lake and read the Gazette.

A group of local friends traveled to North Adams, Mass., for a weeklong course of “Cuisine and Culture.” Lodging was at the historic Porches Inn. They enjoyed meals at local restaurants, and visits to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the Clark Museum. David Lamkin, a senior at Mainland Regional High School, and The Current attended a two-­week trumpet workshop at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Lamkin studied with Terry Everson, music professor at Boston University and member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Russell Band and Kari (Schenck) Band of Somers Point spent their honeymoon in Chatham, Mass., on Cape Cod, after getting married June 9. They enjoyed each others company while relaxing on the beach, going for walks, shopping, eating good food and drinking good drinks.
