A pre-dawn wake up call in Manhattan isn't enough to
hold back a few local girls and their favorite newspaper.
The Gazette joined Ocean City residents Meghan Laverty and
Jordan Zboray at the Good Morning America Summer Concert
series in Bryant Park, N.Y. to see pop star Hannah Montana.
The show, on June 22, was the largest audience in GMA

the 5:30 a.m. start. Thanks to Jordan's Uncle Rick, it was
an experience of a lifetime.

Ginger and Jerry
Hammell of Absecon, pictured holding The Current, visited Lake
Placid, N.Y., and took the Olympic Bobsled Run. The Olympics were
held there in 1932 and 1980. The Hammells had ridden it once in the
winter of 1966, and tried it again last summer, 40 years later. They
said their posted time was the best of the day, winning them tickets
for another ride on the bobsled. The couple decided to forgo the
tickets and wait another 40 years to ride.
