Cheerleading champs
On March 21 the New Jersey Spirit Explosion All-Star Cheerleading
Squad from Egg Harbor Township traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for
the Canam Cheerleading Nationals competition. Members are all from
the South Jersey area. At the Coral Beach Resort, in no particular
order, are Lanie Baldino, Brittany Rando, Gabby Schromsky, Taylor
Paxton, Savannah Masker, Sara Brosman, Abby-Rose Guercioni, Alyssa
Fierro, Brianna Hewlet, Asriel Torres, Alyssa Rutledge, Nicole and
Brooke Mauriello, Shannon Lukas, Brianna Kolbe, Emily Maul, Devlynn
Dietrick, Stephanie Showalter, Gabrielle and Alayna Snavely,
Katelynn and Kelsey Mannis, Kayli Hernandez, Remy Spiers, Julia
Collins, Brittany Baratto, Casey Truehart, Caitlyn Cohen, Miranda
Ludwigsen, Deanna Palermo and Nina Casselberry.
Malcolms hit the Salty Dog
Stanley, Stan, Melanie and Michelle Malcolm of Linwood went to
Hilton Head, N.C., and took The Current.
Wildwood friends Joe and Marie Debone, Bud and
Kathy McClaney, Bud and Ellen Lentz, Bill and Diane Purfield, Mike
and Bernadette Hennessy traveled to Hilton Head Island for a week of
golf and shopping.
John and Harriett Fiore of Ocean City visited
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in November and took along the Gazette
while at the Dixie Stampede with Darlene Pardon.
Rochelle Izzi and Taylor Brown of Dennis Township travel with the
Gazette to the Seawatch Towers in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Back to boot camp
Dr. Lawrence Anastasi of Longport and his brother, Dr. Michael
Anastasi of Galloway Township, went to Marine Corps Boot Camp in
Parris Island, S.C., for several days, where they visited their
former drill instructor, pictured here with them. Michael Anastasi
was a former sergeant in the Marine Corps.
The Gazette traveled with the Gabor family of
Petersburg to the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina to visit
Cadet Richard Gabor during Parent’s Weekend. Cadet Gabor was
promoted from recruit to private and is now an official member of
the South Carolina Core of Cadets as well as a four-year Army
contract scholarship recipient.
Josh Marciano and Joe Petrini pose with the Gazette in front of the

Men figure out the camera
Ginny Caramma of Absecon traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to visit her
friend, Pattie Hinderer, formerly of Absecon. This picture of the
two was taken on the waterfront during a day trip to Charleston, and
in the background is Fort Sumter. They said their husbands went
along, but are not shown, as it took both men to take the photo!

Fun with Mr. Octopus
These happy campers hanging out at Pirateland Campground in Myrtle
Beach, S.C., traveled from Egg Harbor City, Galloway Township,
Mullica Township and Green Bank.

Wetsuits and a wedding
Cousins Kyle and Kolin Lamkin and Nicole and
Andrew Fowler, along with Brett Kinsey, were in Long Bay Resort,
Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the Aug. 25 wedding of Kyle and Kolin’s mom,
Michelle Lamkin, and Brett’s dad, Chuck Kinsey. Nicole and Andrew
are their cousins. The photo was sent in by Grandmom and Grandpop,
Pat and Michael Pavlick. The families are from Somers Point and Egg
Harbor Township.
Traveling
teachers
This summer, college buddies Jaime DuBois and Trish Daley
visited their friend, longtime Mays Landing resident Edward S.
McGonigal, at his new home in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The picture is
taken from Patriots Point near the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, which
is in the background, and across the river from Charleston.
McGonigal was host and tour guide to the two traveling teachers. DuBois
teaches kindergarten for the Department of Defense in Tokyo, Japan,
and Trish Daley is a special-education teacher at Oakcrest High
School in Mays Landing.
Southern hospitality
Dee Smith of Egg Harbor Township
took a trip to Greenville, S.C., to visit her daughter, DeeDee Kier,
and her family. Also along for the journey were DeeDee's Aunt Janet
Ireland, also of Egg Harbor Township, and a copy of The Current.
They enjoyed beautiful weather, downtown Greenville's Falls Park;
they also ventured down to Atlanta, Ga., to visit Dee’s mother, Anna
Butcher, formerly of Egg Harbor Township.
Broadway on the Bay in Myrtle Beach,
Harriett and
John Fiore, of Ocean City, are shown with the Gazette at Tiki and
Jim’s Restaurant while visiting Broadway on the Bay in Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina, this past October.
Gazette’s wasting away in Margaritaville
Ethel Sisko (holding Gazette) is shown with Paige Grady, Mary Grady
and Kyle Pasake. All are from Dennis Township and took a trip to
Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach in August and were kind enough to
take us along for the ride.
Family
affair on Myrtle Beach
Seven families
from EHT and one from Northfield vacationed together
in Myrtle Beach, S.C., over spring break 2006. They
enjoyed golfing, going to the beach, swimming in the
pool and hanging out together. They stayed on the
beach at The Sands Dunes Resort, and are pictured by

Quaint carriage ride in South Carolina
James and Elizabeth Stewart of Egg Harbor Township visited
Charlestown, S.C. the week of Sept. 18-24, enjoying the sightseeing,
a visit to a plantation and great southern food. One of the
highlights of the trip was taking a tour of the city in a
horse-drawn carriage. Here, they hold a copy of The Current
alongside one of the carriages operated by the Palmetto Carriage
Company.
