George Klepac of Ventnor, right, traveled to Dallas, Texas Jan. 13 with his father, Ted Klepac of Seaville, to see their beloved Cowboys take on the New York Giants in an NFC playoff matchup. The Cowboys lost to the Giants 21-17 at Texas Stadium, and the rest, they say, is history. Welcome home

An avid local supporter of our soldiers serving in Iraq recently had the chance to meet some of the troops upon their return to the United States. Martha Gaines of Galloway Township, second from left, has been collecting goods and shipping them to U.S. military units stationed in Iraq for years. When she recently traveled to Fort Hood, Texas, to meet some of those troops, naturally she took her favorite newspaper to share with the guys. The picture was taken Feb. 2 just after their welcome-home parade. Her collection box is in the lobby of the Municipal Complex on Jimmie Leeds Road in Galloway Township.

Yee-haw, ride ‘em cowboy! While Sue Kelly, of North Wildwood, was visiting friends in Fort Worth, a side trip to Granberry, Texas, she brought The Wildwood Leader up close and personal with a genuine Texas Longhorn. This steer was hand-raised by his rider/owner from birth and is ridden as a good will gesture on the downtown streets of the small town.
