SEA ISLE CITY – Two free presentations aimed at fighting heroin abuse and addiction will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 13 the former Sea Isle City Public School building at 4501 Park Road.
The presentations, for parents, adults and senior citizens will be led by speaker John Kriger, of Kriger Consulting, Inc.,
The presentation for seniors in the community, “what grandparents need to know,” begins with a complimentary luncheon at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 90-minute presentation about the importance of securing medications in the home and the risks family members face when they raid medicine cabinets for prescription drugs.
Adults, parents and caregivers are invited to the second presentation at 6 p.m. – “what kids know and you don’t.” This session offers an overview on adolescent behavioral trends, focusing on the two primary issues facing parents and professionals today: opiates and extractions. Attendees will learn about high-risk behaviors and how they are changing the risk potential for families.Pizza and salad will be served after the program.
“There is a very serious epidemic taking place in our society, and we invite the public to join us on Oct. 13 for these important presentations, during which some startling information will be shared,” said Mayor Leonard Desiderio, chairman of Sea Isle City’s Municipal Alliance Committee. “We greatly appreciate people taking the time to join us as we explore these very serious topics – because these problems are happening across our country and in our own back yards.”
