ATLANTIC CITY — Actress Brook Shields will speak about her career and her personal life at the 25th annual Women’s Forum 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City.
Shields began modeling at 11 months old and appeared in her first film at age 9, according to information provided by the organizers.
When she was 14, she was the youngest fashion model ever to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine. By 16, her face was one of the most recognizable in the world.
As an adult, Shields starred in hit television shows including "Suddenly Susan" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
Shields continues to act on stage and screen, and she is a best-selling author and an advocate for women and the arts, the release stated.
The Women’s Forum was founded in 1994 to support Greater Atlantic City Charities in its mission to support local organizations in need.
Past luncheons have featured guest speakers including Lisa Ling, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Suze Orman, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Jane Seymour, Leigh Anne Tuohy, Andy Cohen, Suzanne Somers and Ivanka Trump.
The event has raised more than $2 million for the Greater Atlantic City Charities.
The Women's Forum will feature a silent auction with 100 baskets and prizes, including jewelry, wine, spa packages, VIP experiences, restaurant certificates and golf outings. About 400 people are expected to attend.
Sponsors include Walmart, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Coca-Cola, Heineken and Glenn Insurance. Sponsorships ranging from $600 to $10,000 are available.
