April Fools Half-Marathon weekend
The Amerihealth Half-Marathon race series will be held along an oceanfront route Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23. Events on Saturday include a half-marathon, 7K and 11K runs, and a Kids Fit Final Mile, and there will be a half marathon Sunday. Registration includes T-shirt, photo, live runner tracking, live course music, party at the finish line with beer and medals for the winners. Violin of Hope
Shirat Hayam synagogue, 700 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ventnor, will present "Violin of Hope" 10 a.m. Sunday, April 23. Presented by Stockton University Professor Judith Vogel. The violins of Holocaust survivors became a symbol of hope and of a movement. This is the story of their history and what their music brings to families of survivors. A light brunch will be provided. MBA wine tasting
The Margate Business Association will hold its 15th annual wine tasting 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at Steve & Cookie's by the Bay, 9700 Amherst Ave. There will be wine, craft beer and spirits tastings, hors d'oeuvres, Jagielky's chocolates, silent and live auctions, surprise celebrity guests, and space for DJ and dancing. The Ventnor Senior Transportation Service provides free rides to the market, bank, beauty salon, doctor's office or lab in Longport, Margate and Ventnor to Ventnor residents age 60 or older without serious handicaps.
