Artist meet and greet

Holtzman Gallery at the Milton and Betty Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave., Margate, is celebrating Black History Month with a monthlong exhibition titled "Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future," featuring local artists including Beverly Camp, Natassia A. Davis, John Morris and Kelley Prevard. A meet and greet will be held 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. Admission is free. The artwork is on display through March 4. Foreign film

The Margate Public Library, 8100 Atlantic Ave., will host a screening of the foreign film "One Week and a Day" at 2 and 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the library meeting room. Red Cross blood drive

The Milton and Betty Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave., Margate, will hold an American Red Cross blood drive 1-6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. All blood types are urgently needed. A driver's license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health. The art of Steve Kuzma 

The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City will present "The Inspired Art of Steve Kuzma" through Feb. 19. A reception with the Ventnor artist will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. Kuzma will be showing illustrations and paintings.


'Opera to Broadway'

The Margate Library will host its winter music series, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Martin Bloom Pavilion on the beach behind the library. Jody Kidwell and Jeffrey Uhlig will present "Opera to Broadway." Admission is free.

Rabies Clinic

Ventnor City will hold a free rabies clinic 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 7, at Ventnor City Firehouse 1, New Haven and Winchester avenues. Dr. Jessica Grant of the Ventnor Veterinary Office will issue free rabies shots for dogs. Residents must have a 2018 dog license to be eligible. Licenses are available at City Hall.

Classes at Ventnor Cultural Arts Center

Classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry making, children’s art, dance and Zumba are held at the Ventnor City Cultural Arts Center, 6500 Atlantic Ave., throughout the year. Gathering wool

Atlantic County Library System/Ventnor, 6500 Atlantic Ave., welcomes adults to join a quilting and knitting group that meets 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday. The program is free. Volunteers wanted

Ventnor Senior Transportation Service seeks volunteers to help from 8:45 a.m. to noon one morning a week as a van driver or dispatcher. The senior service provides local residents with transportation to appointments, the supermarket, salons and banks in the Downbeach towns. Guys get-together

Read and Play Baby

Need a Ride?

The Ventnor Senior Transportation Service provides free rides to the market, bank, beauty salon, doctor's office or lab in Longport, Margate and Ventnor to Ventnor residents age 60 or older without serious handicaps. The shuttle will operate 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. To arrange a pickup call 609-823-7994 the day before and leave a message.


Senior activities in Ventnor

The Ventnor Senior Center, 6500 Atlantic Ave., offers various programs for senior citizens 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Transportation is provided by a county bus if needed. Lunch is provided for a small donation. For information call Diane Cherry at 609-822-9239.


Senior activities at the Rosin Center

The Rosin Center at the Herman Pogachefsky Senior Pavilion, 1102 Atlantic Ave., Atlantic City, holds weekday activities including knitting, computer basics, armchair exercises, yoga, health and musical programs, bingo, Alzheimer's caregivers group and Shabbat luncheons on Fridays.
