The Margate Education Foundation held its first-ever Monster Mash, a short run from the Margate Municipal Building to the Eugene A. Tighe Middle School.

Students and their parents came in costume and gathered on Union Avenue waiting for the event to step off. The route went east on Monmouth Avenue to the parking lot in front of the Dominick A. Potena Performing Arts Center, where games including cornhole and giant Jenga were set up for the kids.

Refreshments were available, including hot chocolate.

Proceeds from the fee charged to participate in the run support student activities at Margate public schools.
