Ventnor Middle School eighth-graders Madeline Bergman, Anna Hargadon and Marissa Bloemker, along with STEAM teacher Robert Braverman, recently answered a call for improved sanitation by the Ventnor Educational Community Complex health office.

School nurses Helen Macchiavelli and Jane-Ann Marrone posed this question to the eighth-grade design team: “How can we stop germs from spreading in the health office?” With Braverman's help, the girls got to work designing and building a freestanding hand sanitizing station that will be put right near the heath office door.

The girls said the station will allow students to keep germs from spreading on the handle of the door to the nurse’s office.
