The man of the hour arrives in Ventnor aboard a lifeboat.

Ventnor City will hold its first Twilight Holiday Parade 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 on Ventnor Avenue. The parade route begins at Cornwall Avenue and ends at the Ventnor City Firehouse on New Haven Avenue where a block party will be held following the parade until 7 p.m.

The grand marshal for the parade is Miss Atlantic County 2016 Jacqueline Algarra of Marlton. Miss Columbus Day Olivia Michael will also attend.

Participants include U.S. Congressman Frank LoBiondo, NJ Senator Jim Whelan, Assemblymen Vince Mazzeo and Chris Brown, Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian, Ventnor City Mayor Beth Holtzman and Commissioners Tim Kriebel and Lance Landgraf.

The parade includes a stiltwalker, local business floats, movie and television characters, and of course, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. The Atlantic City High School Band will be joined by the school’s Flag Team, along with sports teams from Ventnor Middle School, including the championship Ventnor Falcons Soccer Team.

The Ventnor City Fire Department will take the lead while fire departments from all four Absecon Island communities will bring up the rear.

The block party include inflatables, cotton candy and hot chocolate, a balloon maker and crafts table.

Free carriage rides will escort passengers up and down Ventnor Avenue to enjoy the holiday decorations.
