Artist Tom Sandor teaches older adults to draw through a partnership with the Stockton Center on Successful Aging every Wednesday in March and April at the Atlantic County Library’s Egg Harbor Township branch at 1 Swift Ave.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays, March 15, 22, 29 and April 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 10 a.m. - noon.

Guided by Sandor’s experience and expertise, participants will learn to draw what they “see,” at their own pace, developing observation skills and defining individual style. With emphasis on self-discovery and skill development, the class will focus on building and refining basic skills, exploring a broad range of drawing materials and sharing ideas and techniques.

A fee of $5 per session will be collected by the instructor. Participants must purchase and bring their own materials. No experience is necessary; however those with a sample of previous work are encouraged to bring it to the class.

Materials list: one General’s Essential Tools Drawing Kit; two drawing pads (one 11 x 14-inch white paper, not newsprint and one smaller, up to 8.5 x 11-inches, white drawing paper or nicer, such as Super Deluxe, Stonehenge or Swarthmore.)
