EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — The Arc of Atlantic County will hold its 15th annual Step Up for the Arc Walk in support of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities Saturday, Nov. 4 starting at Holy Trinity Parish on Newport and Atlantic Avenues in Ventnor.
Check-in begins 8:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish's St. James Campus, with the walk kicking off at 9:30 a.m.
The walk will proceed to the Ventnor boardwalk for a 3.4-mile trek. Participants are also welcome to run or bicycle the route.
Bagels, fruit, coffee, juice and more will be available before the walk begins. There will be a post-walk party featuring music and dancing with DJ Dan Slamme, a hot dog lunch and other refreshments, as well as surprises, organizers said in a press release.
Instructors from Tilton Fitness and Wellness will lead the warm-up, and LiteRock 96.9 WFPG will be provide music and activities.
Conor Dillon of Northfield has been designated the Step Up For the Arc grand walker. Dillon participates in many programs at The Arc including the ArcAngels Candle and Gift Shop, the Adult Training Center, Area 8 Special Olympics, Dance Group and more.
Event proceeds will benefit The Arc’s family support programs.
The registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for children up to age 13. The Arc of Atlantic County’s goal is to raise $30,000. To register in advance see thearcatlantic/2017stepup.
