Egg Harbor Township High School prepares for 2017 graduation

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Egg Harbor Township High School Commencement will begin at 6:10 p.m., Monday, June 19 in the Silver Eagle stadium at Bruce Wolhrab Athletic Complex. A variety of parking and traffic rules are put in place to accommodate the thousands of spectators who attend the ceremony.

Due to parking constraints, graduates will receive one parking pass permitting their families to park at the high school. Any vehicle not displaying the proper parking placard will be towed.

Seniors may not park at the high school and will be required to park at either Swift or Slaybaugh elementary schools. Swift School parking will accommodate seniors with last names beginning with the letters A – L, and Slaybaugh School will accommodate seniors with last names beginning with the letters M - Z. Graduates need to arrive at the satellite parking lots by 4:15 p.m. to ensure arrive at the high school by 4:45 p.m. They will be transported via shuttle to the high school. 

Special parking will be available at commencement for handicapped persons. Utilization of the handicapped-parking pass will count as the “one car” per family alottment. Handicapped-parking requests will be distributed on Wednesday, June 14 and will need to be returned on June 15. Space for handicapped parking is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be limited seating for wheelchair-bound spectators and one helper on the ground level. All other spectators must be seated in the bleachers.

Satellite parking for parents and guests is available at the Dr. Joyanne D. Miller School and Alder and Fernwood middle schools. Busses will provide transportation to and from the satellite parking lots. There is no charge for this service. The busses will begin running at 3 p.m. and will continue through the ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, the busses will return parents, guests and students to their respective lots.

No tickets are required to attend the ceremony.

No air horns, drones or blow ups are permitted at graduation. At the conclusion of the ceremony, spectators are not permitted on the track or football field. Graduates should plan to meet family outside of the field gates.

No tobacco products of any type are permitted on school grounds.

Immediately following graduation, diplomas must be picked up at the athletic complex entrance. Guidance or the main office will not mail diplomas.
