Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national career and technical organization for students in family and consumer sciences classes.

FCCLA focuses on character development, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, career preparation, and creative and critical thinking. High schoolers across America enrolled in family consumer science classes such as culinary or education and training are eligible to participate in FCCLA.

The 2017-2018 national theme is Be Inspired. It encourages members to develop new skills, explore career opportunities, build strong families and give back to their community.

The New Jersey state theme for the year is Generation Leadership.

This year two Egg Harbor Township High School students, Quiara Correa and Alyse Miller, created a bulletin board to illustrate the FCCLA national and state themes

To depict the Be Inspired theme, the students used Incredibles cartoon characters to represent each of the main points that Family, Career and Community Leaders of America stands for, such as leading others and developing new skills.

New Jersey’s theme was shown by leaving the Incredibles faceless, allowing students to imagine themselves as Incredibles and become the leaders they imagine themselves to be.
