EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — A township woman was charged with driving while intoxicated Sunday night after being involved in an accident, police said.

Sheila Goodson, 57, was driving a 2013 Acura east on Delilah Road shortly before 11 p.m. and turned left into the parking lot of the Farmington Wawa without yielding to an oncoming car, police said.

Her vehicle was struck head-on by a 1997 Jeep Cherokee driven by Braulio Nieves, 31, of Egg Harbor Township, police said.

Nieves suffered minor injuries, and Goodson was treated at the scene and then taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus in Atlantic City. A child in Goodson’s car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Goodson was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle, police said.

Additional charges are pending further investigation, according to reports.

The crash closed Delilah Road between the Airport Circle and Westcoat Road for about an hour. Galloway Township EMS and AtlantiCare paramedics assisted at the scene.

The crash is under investigation by Officer Louis Poletis. Anyone who saw the accident is asked to call Traffic Safety Unit at 609-926-2661.
