By 11 a.m. Monday morning, the front section of Dick’s Sporting Goods in Mays Landing was flooded with Eagles fans perusing racks of Eagles championship T-shirts.
For fans who have waited 13 years since the Eagles' last Super Bowl appearance, it was a chance to show that being a Philly fan has paid off.
Nick Zimmerman of Egg Harbor Township was heading to the fitting room with a T-shirt in his hand. The Stockton University student said he wants to go back to school wearing the shirt with pride.
“It feels good to finally have an Eagles championship again,” said Zimmerman, 19, who was a little kid when the team went to the Super Bowl in 2005.
He said Monday felt like the day after the Phillies won the World Series in 2008, and he and his dad went to Forman Mills to buy championship gear.
“It was amazing. I still have the shirts even though they don’t even fit me anymore,” he said.
By 11:30 a.m., employees at Dick’s Sporting Goods were removing a rack that had sold out of shirts.
