Day trip to New York City to see “Come From Away” Wednesday, March 28. This musical is set in the week after the Sept. 11 attacks and tells the story of what transpired when 38 planes were ordered to land unexpectedly in the small town of Gander in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador as part of Operation Yellow Ribbon. Trip to New York City to see "Waitress" Wednesday, May 2. "Waitress" is a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles and book by Jesse Nelson. It is based on the 2007 film of the same name. This musical tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, a waitress in an unhappy marriage to a man named Earl. When Jenna unexpectedly becomes pregnant, she begins an affair with her gynecologist, Dr. Jim Pomatter. Looking for ways out, she sees a pie contest and its grand prize as her chance.
