GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Members of the Absegami High School Future Business Leaders of America know what not to wear, thanks to a presentation from Men's Wearhouse at the January meeting.
Mark Cicala, manager of the Mays Landing store, and Rupalee Chauhan, the formal wear manager, started their presentation with how to "dress for success," giving students pointers on how to make a positive first impression and what attire is appropriate for an interview.
They went on to discuss how to prepare for an interview, writing a first resume, and what students should and should not post on their social media accounts.
When they asked for a show of hands on how many students knew how to tie a tie, not one of the more than 20 students raised their hands.
The session concluded with Cicala giving a hands-on lesson on how to tie a necktie. The students practiced tying ties a number of times until they got the hang of it.
The students were allowed to keep the ties, and each student received a package with literature on interviewing and style tips, and coupons for Men's Wearhouse and David's Bridal.
