The Board of Education celebrated a clean audit for the 2016-2017 fiscal year and unanimously voted to accept the audit’s findings at its meeting Nov. 20.

Daniel DiGangi of Bowman and Company presented the audit.

“There are no findings in the audit reports,” DiGangi said. “I’ve very pleased to report that.”

“No findings is a really good thing,” Vice President Suzette Cordero said.

At the meeting, the school board accepted the retirement of two employees, Shirley Oliver and Paul Thorn.

Oliver, a life skills teacher at the middle school, will retire June 30. She worked for the district for 14 years. Thorn, a custodian at Reeds Road Elementary School, will retire Jan. 31. He worked for the district for seven years.

The school board hired two people for replacement positions for the 2017-2018 school year.

Mary Lou Nace was hired as a payroll specialist for Galloway Township Public Schools effective Dec. 11 through June 30. She will make $58,000, prorated.

Robert White was hired as a night foreman for the middle school effective Nov. 21 through June 30. He will make $44,417, prorated.
