HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – A temperate fall evening attracted what may have been the largest crowd ever to the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony Saturday, Nov. 26 in Memorial Park in Mays Landing.

Hundreds of people gathered to hear performances from the William Davies Middle School Band, a combined chorus from the Davies School Choir and the St. Vincent DePaul Church Youth Choir and the St. Nicholas Aurora Carolers from Egg Harbor City.

Adults and children drank hot chocolate and ate cookies while waiting for Santa, who arrived with Mrs. Claus on a fire truck provided by the Mays Landing Volunteer Fire Company.

The event was sponsored by the Hamilton Township Historical Commission.
