The Oakcrest High School Student Council helped to make the holiday season better for local families and individuals in need through their annual holiday food drive.
Members of Student Council collected canned goods and other nonperishable food items during homeroom throughout the month of December.
Student Council advisors Jason Hearn and Jason Thomas oversee the collection and promotion of the drive each year.
“As one of the largest student clubs at Oakcrest, we have a big responsibility to give back, make a difference and help out as much as possible, wherever and whenever needed,” Thomas said. “We always look forward to every opportunity we get to make a difference in our school and community by collaborating with local organizations and businesses. It's a team effort across the board.”
The food was given to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey Southern Branch in Egg Harbor Township.
