Yes Virginia

The flier for the production of "Yes Virginia the Musical" on stage Friday, Dec. 15 at St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY — The spirit of Christmas and believing in the goodness of others is the message that will come to the stage Friday when St. Peter's United Methodist Church presents Macy's “Yes Virginia the Musical.”

The show centers on the true story of 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon, who sent a letter to the editor of the New York Sun in 1897 asking if there is truly a Santa Claus. The response from editor Francis Pharcellus Church printed in the newspaper has become a story of believing in the kindness and generosity of others.

The production is presented by the St. Peter's youth group. Shea DeMarco plays Virginia, and Theo Rowe plays her best friend Ollie.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15 at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 501 E. Eighth St. in Ocean City. Tickets at the door are $5 for adults and $3 for children under age 12.
