SOMERS POINT — A ribbon-cutting recently heralded the opening of Shore Medical Center’s new Center for Outpatient Rehabilitation at 710 Centre St.

The center provides cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapies along with balance assessments. These services have been available at Shore for many years on the fourth floor of the medical center but were moved to the nearby location to improve convenience and accessibility for patients, according to information provided by the hospital.

About 150 community members, patients, physicians and staff celebrated the opening with an open house, heart-healthy refreshments and tours of the new facility.
