The heroes of Middle Township turned out in force last week, as they took front and center seats in Middle Township Middle School’s gymnasium, promising to have their locks shorn in front of an audience of about 500 people. Most of the heroes were kids, sixth through eighth grade, and many of the students gave up their hair to help their classmate – Ariel Caro, who is in treatment for a rare cancer. On Friday, March 17, students, teachers, staff, Middle Township police officers, and other first responders sat in barber chairs to either shave their heads, or cut off at least eight inches of hair, by 15 volunteer stylists for a St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser.
