Cape May County 4-H member Elizabeth Schalick, a member of the Whinny Pigs 4-H Club, recently attended a conference especially designed to give middle-school age 4-H youth the opportunity to develop their leadership skills. The Discover the Leader in You! 4-H Leadership Conference provides an opportunity for sixth to eighth graders to learn about and develop their leadership skills through interactive and fun activities.
Conference participants meet 4-H membes from across New Jersey; make new friends and gain valuable personal development in understanding self, communicating, getting along with others and decision making. The 4-H “learn by doing” model places major emphasis on the development of such life skills.
