CASA Donation

The officers of the Greater Woodbine Chamber of Commerce paresent a $1,000 check to CASA of Atlantic and Cape May Counties at the chamber dinner Dec. 15. WOODBINE — Members of the Greater Woodbine Chamber of Commerce donated $1,000 to Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of Atlantic and Cape May Counties at the chamber's annual reorganization dinner Dec. 12 at Dionysus Restaurant.

More than 50 members of the chamber attended.

The check was given to Karen DeRosa, CASA director of Community Development. The donation was the result of the chamber's annual car show, which was held in October.

CASA recruits, trains and coaches volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in the community.

The advocates visit with the children and their families and have access to everyone involved in the child's life, then write court reports to a family court judge providing recommendations for services and resources that are in the child's best interests.

Chamber officers sworn in at the meeting were President Lisa Fisher, Vice President Chet Dovidio, Secretary Carol Saduk and Treasurer Chris Hayes.
