DENNIS TOWNSHIP — Two Township Committee members were sworn in Jan. 2, giving the township an all-Republican governing body.

Tom VanArtsdalen and Scott Turner join Mayor Zeth A. Matalucci, Deputy Mayor Julie Fry-DeRose and Committeeman Nicolas Elisano on the five-member committee.

VanArtsdalen is a lifelong resident of Dennis Township. He graduated from Middle Township High School, where he was involved in school sports and clubs and was also a camp counselor for Dennis Township Recreation, where he now volunteers to coach soccer and softball.

He and his wife, Jamie, have two children, Tenley and Gunner.

Turner lives in the Ocean View section of the township with his wife, Kelli, and their two children, Ryan and Megan, both students in the Dennis Township School District. He was born in Cape May Court House and spent his childhood between Dennis Township and Green Bank.

After graduating from Lehigh University, Turner received his license as a certified public accountant while working for KPMG in Philadelphia. In 2002 he was hired by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a special agent. He relocated to Maryland, where he remained until 2011 when he and his wife decided to return to Dennis Township to join his family with running their business, Ocean View Resort Campground.
