Left is taking radical steps in name of diversity

Have you been paying attention to an accumulating list of troublesome things happening these days at the national level?

Barack Obama slipped away for summer vacation by whispering on his way out of the door that he was merely off by $2 trillion regarding the projected 10-year national deficit. This is astounding, particularly because the Congressional Budget Office and many other respected financial minds have long argued that we are facing a $9 trillion deficit (maybe higher) and not the $7 trillion deficit that Obama consistently touted.

In just eight months, Obama has increased the federal deficit more than the prior eight years under President Bush. This is before more massive spending by Obama still to come.

To put a $9 trillion deficit into some perspective, with no interest attached, the cost to repay it would be $1 million a day for 34,000 years.

Obama and his team of extreme left-wing liberals are ruining our country by the day and not just from a financial standpoint.

The recent news that Eric Holder has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA interrogation programs during the President George W. Bush era is a disgrace at so many levels.

The fact that Holder, the architect of so many questionable Bill Clinton last-day pardons, is even attorney general in the first place is mind-numbing.

Holder wants to investigate heroes who kept America safe at the incredibly uncertain time of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This is a betrayal of epic proportion. It also aids and comforts the terrorist enemy, who will take great joy in our skillful CIA interrogators facing possible criminal charges.

It also will send a chilling effect to anyone charged with enhanced interrogation methodologies in the future. They will be left to wonder what "new" radical president might come along eight years later and seek to turn the good guys into criminals.

Make no mistake about it; carefully redacted memorandums regarding CIA interrogation methods clearly prove that enhanced interrogation tactics "convinced" the heinous Kalid Sheik Mohammad to spill his guts about numerous additional terrorist plots here in America and Great Britain.

I always knew it was true, but now there is no denying it. A hearty thank you to Vice President Dick Cheney for keeping the light of truth shined on this radical and dangerous administration. Cheney said long ago that we received very valuable and life-saving information from Mohammad.

Another important area to keep a watchful eye on is the aggressive Obama use of appointed "czars." These czars possess tremendous power and are basically 100 percent unchecked. None were vetted. No FBI background checks. No advice and consent from the U.S. Senate.

Obama has named more than 40 of them. Some are good. Some are downright scary. Take the "Diversity Czar" named Mark Lloyd. He works within issues regulated by the Federal Communications Commission.

A snapshot view of him: He's basically cut from the same cloth as Obama's Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Lloyd is a radical left-winger who has praised Venezuela and its media battle as a model for America.

Obama and his radical cast desperately want to bring back the so-called Fairness Doctrine. This doctrine was declared ineffective back in 1985. The Democrats attempted to bring it back in 1987; thankfully President Ronald Reagan vetoed it.

Team Obama knows it can't get away with bringing back the Fairness Doctrine, so they are planning to back-door their way into the same thing, by citing diversity as the reason. After all, who in their right mind could be against diversity in broadcasting?

Imagine a diversity czar who is already on the record as hating conservative talk radio. Lloyd believes that the federal government should control all aspects of the media.

In other words, to heck with free speech. Lloyd wrote a book in 2006 called “Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America.” Lloyd also believes that public broadcasting should be entirely funded by new license fees charged to private broadcasting companies. The new fees/taxes would pay for eight regional FCC offices, which Lloyd says would monitor political advertising and commentary, the number of commercials and content of the programs.

It should come as no surprise after you've learned this much to discover that left-wing activist Saul Alinsky is one of Lloyd's heroes. Lloyd believes that government is the only institution that can manage communications, arguing still further that Washington must ensure that every citizen has an equal chance to communicate.

Lloyd created nine points that guide his approach to diversity in the media. Space prevents me from sharing them today, but trust me, they are some of the most radical thoughts ever espoused.

And this guy is the diversity czar. We're getting close to needing divine intervention to stop this radical administration.

If this isn't scary enough, here's a direct quote from Lloyd: "It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. This freedom is all too often exaggerated."
