Halloween Parade
The Rotary Club of Mays Landing will be sponsoring the township’s annual Halloween Parade 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Main Street in Mays Landing. For information, call Fred Knebles at (609) 625-3286.
Halloween Parade
The Egg Harbor City Rotary Club will be sponsoring the city’s annual Halloween Parade 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 and will begin at Frannie Kern Field. Line up and judging will take place 2:30 p.m. For information, call Bernadette Jennings at (609) 204-2121.
Poker Run
The Egg Harbor City Playground Committee will hold a Poker Run Saturday, Oct. 31 starting at Al’s Custard, 1001 W. White Horse Pike, and end at McKee’s Irish Pub, 446 Saint Louis Ave. Sign up time is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Donation is $20 per person, with music and food. Cash bar available. Absegami Step Team Halloween Party
The Absegami High School Step Team is sponsoring a Halloween Costume Skating Party at Young's Skating Center at 13th Street and Park Road in Mays Landing from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Admission is $10 and includes regular skates, a pumpkin decorating kit, tattoo and a take-home treat bag. There is one free parent admission with one paid child. S. Egg Harbor Auxiliary Craft and Home Show
The Ladies Auxiliary of the South Egg Harbor Volunteer Company will hold its 23rd annual Christmas Craft and Home Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 at the firehouse on Route 50 at Empire Street. The show is free to the public and will feature crafters and independent sales consultants. Indoor tables for exhibitors are $25 and outdoor space is $30 for 100 square feet. Rock for Recess
The Egg Harbor City Education Foundation will hold a “Rock for Recess” 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Burger Pub, 400 block of Philadelphia Ave. The evening will feature buffet dinner and entertainment by Spragg School Music Teacher Jim Goodrich, and local artists Scott Senn, Jeremy Senn, Ethan Tinkler, and Julie Hall. Tickets are $10 per person. Proceeds from this event will go towards the city’s Education Foundation. For information, call (609) 954-1558.
Clothing drive
The Egg Harbor City Playground Committee will hold a used clothing drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Charles L. Spragg Elementary School in Egg Harbor City. Items being collected are wearable and useable men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, linens, stuffed animals, and hard toys that can fit in a 24-by-24-inch box. The Playground Committee will receive money for every pound collected. Place items into tightly tied plastic bags.

Project Child Find
The Hamilton Township Public School District is conducting its annual Project Child Find which includes a free preschool handicapped program for toddlers ages 3 to 5. Project Child Find provides testing of toddlers who may have developmental delays, and, if so indicated, a specialized individual educational program is set up to meet their needs. Those concerned that their child may be developing differently or having problems learning may contact the child study team of the Hamilton Township Public Schools at (609) 476-6111. Offices are at the George L. Hess Educational Complex, 700 Babcock Road in Mays Landing.
Historical Society membership drive
The Egg Harbor City Historical Society is conducting a membership drive. The public is invited to join in learning about the city and the area’s colorful history. Residency is not required. Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. the last Monday of each month at the Roundhouse Museum, 533 London Ave. All new members will receive a copy of the Egg Harbor City Sesquicentennial Book. Domestic Violence Response Team volunteers sought
The Hamilton Township Police Department is recruiting volunteers to work on its Domestic Violence Response Team. Members will work with the police to provide support, information and referrals to victims of domestic violence. Applicants must be at least 18, have access to transportation, be willing to submit to a background check and attend 60 hours of mandatory training.
