AtlantiCare Mobile Mammography Van

The AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mobile Digital Mammography Van will be at Absecon ShopRite on the White Horse Pike at Mill Road 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. No prescription is necessary for the 30-minute screening. Appointments are recommended. Call (888) 569-1000.

Visions at the Shore tailgate party

To celebrate the grand opening of “I” building, Visions at the Shore, 980 Pitney Road, Absecon, will host a tailgate party from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 during the Philadelphia Eagles-New York Giants football game. The event will be held in the clubhouse and feature food, drinks, prizes and an NFL ticket giveaway. For reservations call (609) 646-7791.

Neighborhood watch startup meeting

A neighborhood watch meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 in council chambers at the Municipal Complex. Sgt. David Risley will discuss the program, which is starting in various sections of the city. This meeting is for Absecon residents who might want to start a neighborhood watch group. It is for new members who have not attended any meetings to receive information and tips on starting a group. Call Risley at (609) 641-0667, ext. 232.

Veterans Day events

Absecon VFW Post 9462 and American Legion Post 28 will host a Veterans Day presentation for students of Absecon Public Schools in the Marsh School cafeteria Wednesday, Nov. 11. The day is a federal holiday, but schools will be open. Refreshments will be served for veterans at 7:45 a.m. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. The school plans a special recognition for Charles Norris. The Veterans Alliance will conduct services in Absecon Veterans Park on Route 9 at 11 a.m. Call (609) 646-2783.

Community Center for Senior Citizens

The Community Center for Senior Citizens is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Absecon United Methodist Church, 100 Pitney Road for all Atlantic County residents age 60 or older. Call (609) 645-0013 or email seniorcenterumc@comcast.net.

Storytime at Absecon Public Library

Storytime for preschoolers is 10 a.m. Wednesdays this year at the Absecon Public Library, 305 New Jersey Ave.

New Galloway Networking Group

Business Networking International meets 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at Gourmet Italian Cuisine at the corner of Pitney and Jimmie Leeds roads in Galloway Township. Absecon Women’s Club

The Absecon Women’s Club meets 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at members’ homes. Club goals are to help support charitable and educational community projects. This year’s state project is autism. Call (609) 646-1749.
