Absecon Police Blotter, Edition of Nov. 13

Police Blotter news is supplied by the Absecon Police Department and other law enforcement agencies. All persons named are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Absecon Police Department responded to 356 calls for service Nov. 1-7. They included four animal complaints, 11 alarms, two burglaries, one criminal mischief, three disorderly conduct, three domestic, two driving while intoxicated, three juvenile complaints, one theft, nine medical assists, 19 motor vehicle accidents, 60 motor vehicle stops, one noise complaint, 124 property checks, 14 suspicious persons, one threat and one trespassing.

Diana Bonilla, 32, of Mays Landing was arrested Nov. 1 by Ptl. Micah O’Hara and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Cesar Acosta, 31, of Egg Harbor Township was arrested Nov. 3 by Ptl. Mitchell Levin and charged with hindering apprehension.

Nse Effiong, 31, of Egg Harbor Township was arrested Nov. 3 by Ptl. Christian Cavileer and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Arthur Long Jr., 41, of Pleasantville was arrested Nov. 5 by Detective John DeRitis and charged with robbery.

There were two warrant arrests.

Neighborhood watch startup meeting

A neighborhood watch meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 in council chambers at the Municipal Complex. Sgt. David Risley will discuss the program, which is starting in various sections of the city. This meeting is for Absecon residents who might want to start a neighborhood watch group. It is for new members who have not attended any meetings to receive information and tips on starting a group. Call Risley at (609) 641-0667, ext. 232.

Dogs must be leashed

Dog owners are reminded that Absecon has a leash law that requires dogs to be on a leash when walking in all public areas such as parks, playgrounds, sidewalks and the street. To report a violation call the Police Department at (609) 641-0667, ext. 0.
