Police nab suspect in Dunkin’ Donuts robbery

ABSECON – A Pleasantville man was arrested Thursday, Nov. 5 in connection with the armed robbery of the Absecon Dunkin’ Donuts Saturday, Oct. 24.
Arthur Long, 41, of Pleasantville was taken into custody at his Atlantic Avenue home without incident, according to Police Chief Joseph Cowan.
Absecon Detective John DeRitis and Ptl. Leigh Gadd were assisted by the Pleasantville Police Department in making the arrest.
Long is charged with armed robbery and theft, and is being held at the Atlantic County jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
He allegedly escaped from the Dunkin’ Donuts on Mill Road with an undetermined amount of cash at about 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
Absecon police said the suspect entered the store and jumped over the counter and demanded money.
According to reports, he lifted his shirt, exposing what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband. After a brief altercation with a male employee he got the money and fled the store.
The man was described as being 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, wearing a green sweatshirt, bluejeans, work boots, a green bandana over his face and a brown bandana on his head.
