Outlaw’s in-law to speak

Storyteller Eddy O’Malley, a distant in-law of outlaw Grace O’Malley of Irish folklore and 16th century history, will address the Irish American Cultural Society 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the American Legion Hall at Mill Road and New Jersey Avenue. Historical Society Christmas meeting

The Absecon Historical Society will hold its Christmas meeting Monday, Dec. 7 at Gourmet Italian Restaurant, Pitney and Jimmie Leeds roads, Galloway Township. 

Cocktails start 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6. The guest speaker will be Dr. Beverly Vaughn. Dinner is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.

Historical Society model train show

The Absecon Historical Society will host a model train show 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13 at Howlett Hall Museum, 100 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. The show is free.

Storytime at Absecon Public Library

Storytime for preschoolers is 10 a.m. Wednesdays this year at the Absecon Public Library, 305 New Jersey Ave.

New Galloway Networking Group

Business Networking International meets 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday at Gourmet Italian Cuisine at the corner of Pitney and Jimmie Leeds roads in Galloway Township. Absecon Women’s Club

The Absecon Women’s Club meets 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at members’ homes. Club goals are to help support charitable and educational community projects. This year’s state project is autism. Call (609) 646-1749.

The Rotary Club of Absecon-Galloway meets 7:30 a.m. every Thursday at the Galloway Diner, 245 W. White Horse Pike. See www.abseconrotary.org.
