Gifts from the Heart Market at the Presbyterian Church

Nov, 17-2009 11:07 am

This Christmas you can give Gifts from the Heart – ones that honor others as they help those in need. Mark your calendar for stress-free Christmas shopping you can feel good about: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. The many booths at Gifts from the Heart Market will be located in the fellowship hall of Community Presbyterian Church, 1501 W. Brigantine Ave. Brigantine residents participate in a remarkable group of efforts to support those in need locally, in the region, across the country and internationally. Come and learn how you can celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by contributing in small or large ways to alleviate poverty and suffering while you provide wonderful gifts for your loved ones. Everyone can play a part!

The Uganda project is an international effort of the Community Presbyterian Church, and hundreds of donors around the nation. At the Real Partners Uganda booth you can purchase Ugandan crafts made by the local Lukaya Artisans’ Guild members who are mostly poor mothers of children who attend the school that is supported through this mission. You can watch the children sing and see photos of those who need sponsors. Perhaps you will decide to sponsor a child in honor of someone special on your shopping list. Or you may purchase a $7 gift package that will feed a poor Ugandan family this Christmas. Included with each gift purchased is a greeting card and information that explains how the gift is helping.
