HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – As the three-year anniversary of the unsolved quadruple murder of four women found in a West Atlantic City drainage ditch approaches, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel has announced that the investigation continues and that additional personnel have been put on the task.
“The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office continues its investigative efforts to solve the murders of Barbara Breidor, Molly Jean Dilts, Kim Raffo and Tracy Ann Roberts,” Housel said in a statement issued Wednesday, Nov. 18.
“Once their identities were determined by intensive investigative efforts during the week following their Nov. 20, 2006 recovery, this agency has continued to aggressively pursue this homicide investigation,” he said.
Housel was not the prosecutor at the time. Jeffery S. Blitz was prosecutor at the time the bodies were found. Housel took over the office in June 2007.
The women’s bodies were recovered behind a strip of motels along the Black Horse Pike in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township.
Housel said his department has been assisted in its efforts by law enforcement agencies such as the U.S. Justice Department, the FBI, federal and state forensic laboratories, the New Jersey State Police, and the Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic City police departments.
“The continuing nature of this investigation is demonstrated by my recent assignment of additional personnel from my office to this task along with the continual use of national databanks such as ViCAP, the Justice Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program, and the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group,” he said.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said the statements were made in response to inquiries made with regard to the anniversary of the unsolved case.
The statement said the Prosecutor’s Office would not at this time release any information with respect to similar or dissimilar crimes, nor would it be making any further comment on the case.
“While we continue in our commitment to make this case,” Housel said. “We invite any members of the community with knowledge of these crimes or of these victims to share their information with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (609) 909-7666 or with Crime Stoppers at (609) 652-1234 or 1(800)-658-8477.”
