HAMILTON TOWNSHIP – Oakcrest High School REBEL club members visited the Joseph C. Shaner Elementary School in Mays Landing Thursday, Nov. 12 to read to first-grade students as part of the "Spare the Air" reading program.
During the tobacco prevention education program developed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and Scholastic, students participated in interactive storybook, sing-along and activity sessions highlighting the dangers of smoking and second-hand smoke.
REBEL is a program of the Oakcrest Teen Center and is part of a state-wide, youth-led and youth-driven anti-tobacco movement to teach and educate New Jersey youth to make healthy lifestyle decisions and support non-smoking norms.
